Mets fans sarcastically chant ‘MVP’ for reliever Austin Warren

The Mets fans who came to Citi Field on Tuesday night were not very happy when they walked out of Queens Stadium, venting their frustration throughout a disastrous night.

The Mets lost to the Twins 5-3 after taking a three-run lead over the Twins for their 12th straight loss.

After Devin Williams collapsed in the ninth inning and allowed a go-ahead run to score, the Mets called up Austin Warren to try to clean up the mess.

After he struck out his second hit of the inning, Mets fans began sarcastically chanting “MVP” to the right-hander.

The small but vocal group of Mets fans that started the sarcastic chant summed up the frustration of Mets fans Tuesday night.

Warren managed to end the pain by getting the latter out of the inning and limiting the damage to just a 5-3 lead.

Video from inside the stadium showed that Citi Field was nearly empty by the time the final play was scored.

And the fans who stayed all the way until the end They were booing loudly When the Mets left the field.

The Mets’ 12-game losing streak is the franchise’s longest since the team lost 12 straight games in 2002.

“We are all very aware of that.” Francisco Lindor told reporters After the last defeat. “But at the end of the day, every day is a new day. We have to go out and make it happen. It’s one of those days where you know what’s going on and everyone has the urge to win and try to do their best. You just have to learn from it and move forward.”
