A Fall River man was killed Saturday in a late-night motorcycle accident in Westport, the local DA said.
Police received a call at approximately 11:38 p.m. about a motorcycle crash outside a home near Route 178, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn’s office said in a news release.
Police found a severely damaged motorcycle beside the road. Debris from the Harley Davidson motorcycle was scattered all over the road and in the home’s yard, Quinn’s office wrote.
The victim, John Soares IV, 29, was found 50 feet from the motorcycle. Quinn was pronounced dead at the scene, Quinn’s office said.
The telephone pole and stone wall appeared to be damaged in the incident, the prosecutor’s office said.
The DA said the incident remains under investigation.
