Welcome back to Scenic Six.

We went on a college tour of Boston with my daughter over the weekend and took the opportunity to visit some of the sites on the Freedom Trail before grabbing lunch at the Beantown Pub. I never tire of Boston’s wonderful history, and I’m glad my kids enjoy it too. This week I’ll be sharing a Freedom Trail guide for those who also want to hike the city’s famous red brick trail this season.

Plus, I’ve got details on the debut of a new coaster at Six Flags New England, Restaurant Week in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the Southern Vermont Homebrew Festival, a New England residents-only bed and breakfast offer, and more.

Walk the famous Freedom Trail this season

I revisited parts of Boston’s Freedom Trail over the weekend with my daughter and decided it was an activity that never gets old. The popular two-and-a-half-mile trail connects 16 historic sites and attracts more than 4 million visitors annually. Don’t have time for everything? A tour guide once shared with me this handy list of five must-see stops.

How do you feel about sitting like a couch in the sky?

United Airlines is rolling out a new seat in 2027 called Relax Row, a sofa-like seat in the sky made up of three economy seats. When I asked readers if they wanted to try it, more than 60% said yes. “Being able to stretch out and take a nap would be amazing!” David wrote from Billerica. But not everyone thought it was a good idea. Find out what readers are saying about it.

Beach season is coming. If you’re visiting Acadia National Park in Maine, it’s worth a visit to Sand Beach, which is nestled between granite cliffs along the Atlantic Ocean and has been named among the best beaches in America by Condé Nast Traveler.
