Migrant fugitive smashes into ICE agent with vehicle

An illegal immigrant who was convicted of a host of crimes including battery and felony gun possession hit an ICE agent with his car during a traffic stop in Sacramento.

Authorities attempted to arrest Cha Ly, an illegal criminal immigrant from Laos with a long list of charges, during a targeted traffic stop on March 25, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Lee then fled the scene in his vehicle and struck an ICE agent, who was not injured in the collision.

He has prior convictions for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, petty theft, two DUIs, resisting an officer, battery, and possession of a firearm, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

An immigration judge issued a final order deporting Lee from the United States in 2010.

The Sacramento incident comes on the heels of another dangerous confrontation between ICE agents and a violent suspect just weeks ago.

In mid-March, federal officials released a graphic photo showing horrific bite marks on the arm of an ICE agent after an alleged member of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang attacked him during an attempted arrest in San Diego.

Last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained a suspected illegal immigrant in the San Fernando Valley who was confronted by members of the public while carrying what was described as a homemade flamethrower.

Bystanders reportedly tackled the man and secured him with zip ties before turning him over to federal officers amid active wildfires burning in the area.
