bogota — Colombian authorities confirmed that a private plane crashed on Saturday in central-eastern Colombia, killing all six people on board, including singer Yesson Jimenez.

The Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement that the plane, registered as N325FA, crashed in the area of Paiba and Duitama in Boyaca province. It was headed to Medellin.
The agency added that all six passengers died, noting that Jimenez (34 years old) was among the victims. The others who lost their lives were the pilot, Captain Hernando Torres, and the passengers, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Oscar Marin, Jefferson Osorio, and Wiseman Mora.
The Boyaca Governor’s Office issued a statement declaring mourning in the province.
Videos published by Colombian media show the plane taking off while shouts of “runway ran out” can be heard. Later photos show the smoldering wreckage of the plane. The authorities did not provide details about the circumstances of the accident.
Transport Minister Fernanda Rojas said on social media that the competent authorities have begun investigations to determine the causes of the accident.
The Civil Aviation Authority added that the technical department for investigating accidents has activated the protocol of procedures such as collecting evidence.
