Shaun White recently cheered up fellow skateboarder Nyjah Huston following a near-fatal crash. The 31-year-old skateboarder suffered serious injuries following a collision during a skateboarding accident in Tempe, Arizona.
Huston has been one of the most prominent skateboarders in recent times. He is not only one of the highest-paid skateboarders in the world, but also one of the most successful.

White reacted to Huston’s Instagram post on the near-fatal crash, where he suffered a fractured skull and a fractured eye socket. The 31-year-old skateboarder wrote in the caption of his Instagram post,
“A harsh reminder how death defying skating massive rails can be. Fractured skull, fractured eye socket. Taking it one day at a time. I hope yall had a better new years then me. We live to fight another day ????????”

Everyone supported Huston in this tense situation, sending their best wishes for a speedy recovery. White joined the bandwagon by sharing his post and revealing his admiration for him as a fellow skateboarder. The former Olympic champion snowboarder wrote in the caption of his Instagram story,
“Been watching @nyjah grow up into one of the best skaters to ever do it and it amazes me the amount of grit this kid has. You got this brother. Heal quick!”
Huston had participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite a sluggish start, the skateboarder managed to clinch a podium finish, winning a bronze medal.
White’s Track Record As a Skateboarder
White is well known for his exploits in snowboarding. The soon-to-be 40-year-old former Olympic champion has won three Olympic gold medals and a staggering 18 medals at the Winter X Games, of which he won a mind-boggling 13 gold medals from 2003 to 2013.
However, not many know that White has also been an outstanding skateboarder. He was only nine years old when he was noticed by champion skateboarder Tony Hawk, who was impressed with his talent and volunteered to train him.
White became the first athlete to win medals in both skateboarding and snowboarding at the X Games. The former Olympic champion won two gold medals in the 2007 and 2011 editions, both of which were held in Los Angeles. He later followed in the footsteps of his elder brother Jesse White and switched to snowboarding full-time by 2014.
