Ontario, California — Officials said they found a body while searching for missing Camila Mendoza Olmos, who was last seen on Christmas Eve in San Antonio, Texas.
Camila Mendoza Olmos has been missing since Wednesday morning, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Bexar County Police Chief Javier Salazar said a search team found a body in a nearby field Tuesday afternoon. He said no foul play was suspected.
A firearm was also found near the body. While foul play is not suspected at this time, Salazar says it is still too early to determine if the body is Camila’s.
He added that the authorities were searching for a missing firearm belonging to a member of her family.
Salazar previously said the 19-year-old may have had mental health challenges.
In the United States, the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available by calling or texting 988. There is also an online chat at 988lifeline.org.
The coroner will confirm the identity of the body and the cause of death.

Mendoza Olmos grew up in Southern California and still has close family ties.
“It was very heartbreaking,” Priscilla Flores, Mendoza Olmos’ cousin, told Eyewitness News on Monday. “It’s unbelievable, everything that’s happening, especially this time of year.”
“We have to consider all possibilities at this point,” Bexar County Police Chief Javier Salazar said at a news conference. “Unfortunately, for us, we can’t start narrowing it down until some evidence leads us to that, and we’re not there yet.”
