“Zootopia 2” is the highest-grossing opening ever for a global animated film. Disney’s sequel grossed $156 million domestically in its five-day opening weekend, and more than $556 million globally.

It is now the highest opening for an international animated film ever, According to the deadline. It is also the highest global opening for any animated film in Disney history.

In the rest of the weekend’s box office, “Wicked: For Good” easily took second place with $62 million.
It’s almost a copy-and-paste of last year, when Wicked and another Disney animated sequel, Moana 2, drew big crowds to theaters on Thanksgiving weekend.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” ranked third, earning $7 million in its third weekend.
