Badosa had to end her 2025 tennis season prematurely after competing in the China Open due to chronic back pain, which she has been managing since 2023. In Beijing, she won her opening match against Antonia Ružić but had to retire from her third-round match against Karolína Muchová during the first set because of a left hip injury.
Meanwhile, Jabeur last competed at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. She faced Viktoriya Tomova in the first round but retired from the match during the second set, with the score at 7-6(5), 2-0. In July 2025, she announced that she would be taking a hiatus from tennis to rest and rediscover the “joy of simply living.”
Earlier this month, Jabeur shared a heartwarming video of herself and her husband, Kamoun, holding a tiny onesie and a miniature tennis racquet, announcing that they are expecting their first child in April 2026.
Recently, Badosa posted on social media that she, her coach Pol Toledo, Jabeur, Kamoun, and their friends and family spent some time together at a bowling alley.
“????❤️ with the fam,” Badosa captioned her Instagram story.
The Tunisian shared a video showcasing Badosa’s amusing bowling technique. The former World No. 2 later re-shared the video, humorously stating that nobody should copy her technique.
“@paulabadosa and her super unnatural technique ????????????,” Jabeur wrote.
“???????????????????? please don’t copy me,” Badosa replied.
Kamoun also shared a video of Badosa and Jabeur dancing, with the Spaniard’s hand on Jabeur’s pregnant belly. Reacting to the dancing video, Kamoun joked that the baby was his, to which Badosa playfully replied that the baby was hers.
“@paulabadosa it’s my baby ????????????,” Kamoun wrote.
“It’s mine ????????????????❤️,” she replied.
This year, Badosa’s best result came at the 2025 Australian Open, where she reached the semifinals before losing to the eventual runner-up, Aryna Sabalenka, with a scoreline of 4-6, 2-6. At the French Open, the former World No. 2 reached the third round before being eliminated by Daria Kasatkina.
At the Wimbledon Championships, Badosa fell to Katie Boulter in the first round and withdrew from the US Open due to her back injury. Badosa also reached the quarterfinals in three tournaments: the 2025 Mérida Open, the Internationaux de Strasbourg, and the Berlin Tennis Open.
