Surveillance cameras captured the moment a group of thieves accosted two men in broad daylight in the upscale Long Beach neighborhood.
On October 12, the victims were on the sidewalk of a residential neighborhood in the 220 block of Granada Street in Belmont Shore around 5:30 p.m. when the suspects, who were dressed in black, suddenly jumped out of several parked cars.
They ran towards the victims and demanded that they hand over their jewelry and valuables. A video clip showed the violent confrontation as the suspects were seen grabbing the victims during the ordeal.

“I saw the police notice at my door, and it was confusing, so I kept looking back [at the footage] “And there was a complete robbery,” he recalls.
The victims may have been targeted by the suspects because of what they were wearing in their home burglary. The two men had spent some time on nearby Second Street, a popular area filled with bars and restaurants, earlier that day.
Neighbors in the area are worried after hearing news of the theft. They said the neighborhood is a quiet and safe part of the city.
“My child goes to school three blocks away and was at practice [when the robbery happened,]”It’s very scary,” Sofia Chavez, a neighbor, told KTLA’s Rick Chambers.
“This is a very nice neighborhood with families and kids running around and playing,” said neighbor Stephen Pangleman. “The fact that this happened in broad daylight is really concerning for the entire community.”
It is unclear whether the group of thieves is linked to other crimes in the area. No arrests have been made and no descriptions of the suspects are available as the incident remains under investigation.
“The truth of that [took place] “Being 100 feet away from where we live doesn’t make you feel comfortable when you sleep at night,” Pangeleman said.
