(BCN)-The Santa Clara provincial attorney office announced on Wednesday that it donates $ 100,000 to help small companies link their security cameras to the police in an actual time as part of a new effort to combat organized retail theft.
Prosecutors said that the experimental program, which was launched in partnership with the San Jose Police Department, aims to provide at least 200 companies with high -tech security systems.
When making a warning or call 911, officers will be able to display live footage to identify suspects and vehicles. Police can also use herd cameras to track individual cars.
Prosecutors said that the provincial prosecutor’s office also provides concrete farmers in front of store facades to prevent thieves from cracking cars to companies.
“We have created specialized units, we have made major arrests and tried retail thieves to the maximum limit of the law,” provincial lawyer Jeff Rosen said in a statement. “It is now time to do more. People who do business in Santa Clara County must know that we are friends with businesses – and business safety.”
Prosecutors said that the donation comes from the revenue of the prosecutor’s lawsuit against Google.
