ASAN (KXAN)-Early security raised on Wednesday to a shelter order in place as a general armed suspect near South Austin Elementary School while the city’s emergency communication system was undergoing planned maintenance, according to the Austin Police Administration.
The suspect began chasing Brandon Thompson at about four in the morning on September 10 in the 700 Bloc of Azzie Morton, when Bodycam Thompson’s video shot a woman – Kai Smith – in his head, then shot Adam Rinhart, who was talking to Thompson and Samith about a stolen vehicle. Smith was clear in the afternoon of that day.
Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Smith had started to support life on Sunday. Lisa Davis’s leader expressed her condolences to her family during press conferences last week.
Officer Rinhart, an old warrior in the abdomen, has been shot, but he is expected to recover.
Police said that the collapse of the communications began when he was a sender – who started his outfit – called a patrol supervisor at the scene of the accident and who was unable to verify whether the shelter was still active.
“Before the confirmation, the applicable shelter was raised,” APD said in a statement. “I immediately realized that the cancellation was sent prematurely, and an additional public safety alert was sent.”
Since the emergency communication system was under maintenance, “APD employees were not on the same site, which led to misunderstanding.”
More questions are still
Thompson was almost a year from 4:10 am to 8 am, and it was monitored near Barton Hills Elementary School at the time of decline.
Council member Ryan Alter held a meeting with parents on Tuesday morning to listen to concerns.
“Many feelings, many feelings, many raw feelings that are very justified, and many questions of that.” “My biggest concern is … We had one individual who was able to raise the shelter in his place. I think we need to make a mistake on the side of caution, and if that means that while there is a kind of safety measure in its place, then two or three people should give the brightness before it is raised, I think we should do it.”
The educational zone said last week that it made the decision not to delay or cancel the school when they saw the alert, saying that the shelter was raised, and the boycott employees did not learn that he was sent an error until 7 am, and they made the decision not to delay because the students were already on their way.
The educational area confirmed that AISD police representative was at the scene with APD at about 6:30 am, and we are still waiting for an explanation about the reason that the area was still not known until 7 am that Thompson has not yet been found.
The police gave the official and all of this were corrected at about 9 am, after Thompson shot him by the owner of the house that he invoked.
Tomson is currently facing two charges, according to court records:
- Trying to kill the capital for the peace officer
- Residence
The administration expects to issue more information about the case on Wednesday.
